Trap the other King! You are white and move first. ♜ Rook: straight lines. ♝ Bishop: diagonals. ♛ Queen: both. ♞ Knight: jumps in an L. ♚ King: one step. ♟ Pawn: forward one (two from the start), captures diagonally, and becomes a Queen at the far side. Tap a piece to see where it can go.

The full game of chess with all the real rules: castling, en passant, check, checkmate and stalemate. You play white and move first. Tap a piece and its legal moves glow, with a ring on the squares where you can capture. The rules panel shows how each piece moves, a pawn that reaches the far side becomes a queen, and the hint button suggests a move. Pick Easy (the computer makes casual moves), Medium (it thinks two moves ahead) or Hard (three moves ahead). Nothing is saved and there is no timer.
